Tutoring and Internships
College courses are more demanding and challenging than high school courses, and you may find yourself struggling to master the many terms and concepts that are part of biology and chemistry courses. Learning Support Services has a Peer Tutoring program for students in 100 and 200 level biology and chemistry courses. Tutoring services are free to all enrolled students. (Learn More)
Summer jobs and internships that are relevant to biology are a useful way to gain hands-on experience in the biological sciences. Whenever feasible, students should seek off-campus work or educational experiences that will improve their competitiveness when seeking employment after graduation, or when applying to graduate or professional schools. Links to university sites that list opportunities for internships are below. Many scientific societies and other organizations also keep lists of summer jobs in specific disciplines.
