David Nielsen recently earned his master's degree from Appalachian State University where he studied how aspect-induced microclimate influences the distribution of ferns in the southern Appalachian Mountains. Mr. Nielsen enjoys solving complex problems through an interdisciplinary scientific approach, and is interested in the future of agriculture and sustainable development in a changing world.
